Are you an experienced Property Claims Handler looking for a role that offers flexibility, technical variety and real career development?

We’re working with a growing and well-established claims business seeking a Commercial Property Claims Handler to join their team. The role is based in the Nottingham area with hybrid working available, although fully remote applicants will also be considered for the right individual, with attendance in the office just once per quarter.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience handling property claims who enjoys investigating, validating and progressing claims through to settlement while providing an outstanding service to clients and policyholders.

The Role

You’ll manage a portfolio of commercial property claims from initial instruction through to settlement, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, fairly and in line with policy terms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of commercial property claims.
  • Investigating claim circumstances and assessing policy coverage, causation, liability and quantum.
  • Reviewing survey reports, schedules of work, contractor estimates, photographs and supporting evidence.
  • Liaising with policyholders, insurers, brokers, surveyors and contractors to progress claims.
  • Negotiating fair and commercially sound claim settlements.
  • Identifying complex or high-value claims requiring escalation.
  • Maintaining accurate claim records and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Delivering excellent customer service through proactive communication and expectation management.

About You

To be considered, you’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience handling commercial and/or property insurance claims.
  • Knowledge of policy coverage, liability, causation and claim quantum.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation including survey reports and repair estimates.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience working within an FCA-regulated environment.

Any insurance qualifications such as Cert CII or Cert CILA would be advantageous, but are not essential.

What’s on Offer?

  • Salary circa £30,000 – £35,000 DOE.
  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • Remote working considered for strong applicants (quarterly office attendance required).
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Exposure to a broad range of commercial property claims.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

If you’re currently handling property claims and are looking for a flexible opportunity where your technical expertise will be valued, we’d love to hear from you.
