Our MD, Michael’s journey is an inspiring story of courage, perseverance, and passion. Withover five years of building a promising career in the Insurance and Broking industry, Michael found himself at a professional and personal crossroads. It was at this point that an unexpected but exciting opportunity presented itself: a chance to enter the recruitment sector.
This decision marked a pivotal moment in his career; one filled with uncertainty but also the promise of new beginnings. Encouraged by the faith others had in him, Michael made the leap into recruitment—a move that would not only change his professional trajectory but shape his purpose. Looking back now, Michael proudly calls this the most rewarding role he has ever had.
Starting as a Resourcer, Michael quickly found his footing in recruitment. He soon progressed to the role of a 360-degree Recruitment Consultant, where he thrived through the highs and challenges of this dynamic profession. For Michael, helping clients secure top talent and placing candidates in roles that aligned with their aspirations created a sense of fulfilment and job satisfaction that was unparalleled.
With a natural ability to connect with people, Michael worked diligently to build relationships within the Insurance Broking industry. He became known for his approachable demeanour and commitment to placing the right candidates—a quality that allowed his career to flourish. Over time, he expanded his recruitment focus into Claims, Finance, General Insurance, and even Legal, placing hundreds of professionals in roles across these thriving industries.
How it all started
In November 2022, armed with over a decade of experience and a vision for how recruitment should be done, Michael decided to take the bold next step: founding MPJ Recruitment Ltd. This new endeavour was a leap into the unknown, but for Michael, it was
also an exciting opportunity to build a company rooted in his values and his passion for connecting talent with opportunity.
Strength through personal loss
Just as Michael was stepping into his new role as an entrepreneur, life dealt him a significant personal blow. In December 2022, just two days before Christmas, his father passed away. It was an immensely challenging time for Michael, as his parents had always been a source of immense support and inspiration for him.
Despite the heartbreak, Michael persevered: “I continue to strive in my life and career knowing that my Dad is always around me and smiling while being proud of mine and the team’s performance and growth.”

Michael attributes much of MPJ Recruitment’s success to the amazing team around him.

Michael remains committed to expanding the business’s client base while maintaining the standard of excellence that MPJ is known for. His focus has also been on growing the team with recruitment professionals who share the same values and passion for helping others.
