Job Title: Bodyshop Prepper
Location: Westcliff-on-Sea
Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience) + other excellent benefits listed below.
Full-time, permanent position: Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm.

They are now actively looking to recruit a Bodyshop Prepper, for their Bodyshop in Westcliff-on-Sea.
Job Summary:
The Bodyshop Prepper is responsible for preparing vehicle panels and surfaces for painting within an automotive body repair environment. This role involves sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning vehicles to ensure they are fully prepared for the paint process. The Prepper works closely with panel technicians and paint sprayers to deliver high-quality finishes and maintain efficient workflow within the Bodyshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for paint by sanding, smoothing, and feathering edges.
- Apply body fillers and stopper to minor imperfections and sand surfaces to a smooth finish.
- Mask vehicles and panels to protect areas that should not be painted.
- Apply primers and prepare repaired areas for the paint spraying process.
- Clean and degrease vehicle surfaces using appropriate materials to remove dust, grease, and contaminants.
- Ensure vehicles are properly prepared and ready for the spray booth.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the prep and paint areas.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including correct use of PPE and equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed time-frames.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a Bodyshop desired.
- Able to complete high quality repairs.
- Knowledge of vehicle preparation and paint processes.
- Ability to use sanding tools, and polishing equipment.
- Good attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
