We’re partnering with a well-established and growing specialist litigation firm in Manchester that is looking to strengthen its successful Housing Disrepair team. The Role
- You’ll manage your own caseload of Housing Disrepair matters from instruction through to resolution, working alongside an experienced and supportive team in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Running a varied caseload of Housing Disrepair claims from inception to settlement
- Managing both pre-litigated and litigated matters in line with relevant protocols and procedures
- Preparing and drafting legal documents, including Letters of Claim, pleadings, and court applications
- Reviewing tenancy documentation, housing records, and supporting evidence to assess claims
- Analysing expert reports and surveyor evidence
- Negotiating settlements and securing the best outcomes for clients
- Issuing and progressing court proceedings where required
- Liaising with clients, Counsel, experts, landlords, and other key parties
- Keeping case files and records updated using the firm’s case management system
- Ensuring matters progress efficiently whilst adhering to court deadlines and compliance requirements
- Delivering an exceptional standard of client care throughout the litigation process
- Contributing towards team targets and maintaining strong billing performance
About You
We’re keen to speak with qualified Solicitors who have:
- Experience handling Housing Disrepair claims; or
- A strong background in contentious civil litigation with an interest in specialising in Housing Disrepair
- Experience managing litigated matters independently
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Civil Procedure Rules and housing legislation
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A proactive, organised, and commercially minded approach
