Hours: 9am to 5pm, Mon-Fri (Hybrid working)

A well‑established UK loss adjusting business with over four decades of experience, providing specialist claims services across commercial, domestic, marine, and motor sectors. The organisation handles both standard and complex claims and employs a nationwide team of around 400 professionals.

The business is supported by its own dedicated building repair network and offers specialist adjusting expertise in areas such as entertainment, events, and advertising.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Claims Technician to work closely with Field Loss Adjusters in managing a broad range of domestic and commercial property claims, including high‑value cases exceeding £100k. You will coordinate with an approved repair network to appoint suppliers and ensure that agreed scopes of work are delivered efficiently and to the required standard.

We are looking for someone who consistently delivers excellent customer service, understands claims processes and policy coverage, and demonstrates strong organisational and time‑management skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting Loss Adjusters in the project management of claims

  • Preparing and issuing detailed loss adjusting reports to insurers within agreed timescales

  • Gathering supporting documentation such as pricing validation, fire/police/weather reports, and credit checks

  • Appointing approved or non‑network suppliers and coordinating repair files and contractor activity

  • Liaising with insurers and policyholders to obtain information required for effective claims management

  • Producing written communication including reports, settlement letters, and repudiations

  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and escalating concerns where necessary

  • Managing a small caseload during surge periods, including negotiating, settling, and repudiating claims within authority

  • Upholding the organisation’s code of conduct at all times

You Will Have / Be

  • Previous experience handling property claims from cradle to grave, or strong transferable skills

  • Accurate and confident report‑writing abilities

  • Strong negotiation skills for claims settlement

  • Good understanding of insurance principles and policy coverage

  • A proactive approach to supporting internal and external clients with accuracy and professionalism

  • Team‑focused and customer‑focused, ensuring information is shared appropriately and promptly

  • Able to communicate effectively with policyholders, including in challenging situations

  • Able to anticipate and resolve obstacles that may delay the claims process

  • Flexible and proactive, particularly during surge events

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication, organisational, and confidentiality skills

  • Capable of coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously
