Salary – £30,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
About the Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Litigation Solicitor to join a highly regarded and growing insurance litigation team in Scotland. This role offers the chance to work with a leading UK firm recognised for its strength within the insurance and commercial sectors, acting for major insurer and corporate clients across a broad range of complex defender litigation matters.
Applications are welcomed from candidates who are due to qualify in 2026, and Solicitors with between 0 – 5 years PQE, although candidates outside this range with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
The Role
The successful candidate will work across a broad range of defender insurance litigation matters including:
- Personal injury litigation
- Motor and credit hire claims
- Employer’s and public liability claims
- Counter fraud and suspected fraudulent claims
- Complex and catastrophic injury matters
- Product liability and construction related disputes
- Regulatory and health and safety matters
- Cross border and jurisdictional disputes
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of litigated and pre-litigated matters
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and legal documentation
- Reviewing evidence and preparing cases for litigation
- Conducting negotiations and liaising with insurer clients
- Supporting senior solicitors and partners on complex matters
- Attending court hearings where appropriate
- Delivering high standards of client service throughout
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience handling defender litigation matters
- Knowledge of personal injury and insurance litigation procedures
- Experience managing litigated or pre-litigated claims
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
