Job description
Our client has a fantastic opportunity to join their growing Legal Support Team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in undertaking assessments of medical negligence leads conducted by our medical legal acceptance team with a view to identifying cases where there are sufficient prospects to proceed. In addition, they will provide legal guidance where needed to the Medical Law Services Teams.

Main Responsibilities:

To review medical negligence leads rejected by Structure information decision support system (SIDSS) or medical legal team.

To accept at Risk Assessment 1 (RA1) any cases which satisfy the ‘acceptance criteria’ as set out in the firm’s policy document.

To identify on risk assessment the relevant date of knowledge, record on Proclaim and record the reasons why the limitation period has been set to that date.

Provide training and support to lawyers as necessary.

To support systems teams with the development of the Structure information decision support system (SIDSS).

The above list is not exhaustive of any other tasks, which may be required.
The ideal candidate will have:
-
Experience of handling medical negligence claims
-
8 years+ PQE
-
Excellent attention to detail
-
Excellent case management skills
-
Good knowledge of medical conditions and ability to identify appropriate case categories.

To have precise and high-level attention to detail
-
Ability to make research/knowledge-based decisions.
-
Analytical skills and a methodical approach
-
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.

Excellent communication skills
-
Ability to work as a team member and remotely.
